Cygnet completes 21,000 sq ft facility

NORTHWICH engineering firm Cygnet has completed a 21,000 sq ft facility, trebling its assembly and testing capacity.
The site at New Cheshire Business Park, Wincham, is the first of three phases of development that will give Cygnet, which makes machines that produce and process carbon fibre, 91,000 sq ft of space.
The team responsible for the development were Skelmersdale-based building company Construction Partnership UK (CPUK), Chester project management company Tor Project Services, and law firm DTM Legal.
Managing director Matthew Kimpton-Smith said: “The need for us to expand and improve our facilities is being driven by global demand for our products, in particular from the burgeoning fibre processing market. This in turn is being fuelled by considerable growth in aerospace, automotive and wind energy.
“The new building ultimately de-risks the purchase of our equipment because we can now fully test our machines before shipping to customers. An influx of new orders in the first half of this year makes the timing of this build more critical than ever.”
