Appointments: Cowgill Holloway promotes; Shoosmiths & more

COWGILL Holloway Business Recovery, the corporate recovery and insolvency arm of North West accountants and business advisers, Cowgill Holloway has promoted Craig Johns to partner.

Johns joined the firm as a senior manager in 2010 and has since helped in the development and growth of the firm’s insolvency offering in the North West marketplace. In 2011 he qualified as an insolvency practitioner and was made a director.

He said: “I will continue to support businesses and their advisers, helping them to spot the early warning signs and working with them on a preventative basis to lead them through the challenges they face.”

MANCHESTER Central, the conference and exhibition venue has bolstered its sales team with the addition of Tom Forshaw as assistant director of sales.

Forshaw, joins Manchester Central after spending 10 years in senior management positions at TUI Travel PLC – the latter three as managing director of its sports tour brand Thomson Sport.

During his time at TUI, Forshaw established a strong track record in developing and implementing complex sales strategies for premium events.

He said: “As a proud and passionate Mancunian, I’m thrilled to join the team at Manchester Central. It’s a great opportunity to go back to my roots and focus entirely on sales. The venue has a great reputation for delivering world class events across multiple sectors and I’m very much looking forward to developing relationships with clients and continuing to boost their return on investment.”

Meanwhile Elizabeth Faulkner has bene promoted to assistant CEO – sales, marketing and communications.

LAW firm Shoosmiths has expanded its regional team  with the appointment of Chris Longbottom, as head of family law in its Manchester office.

He joins the firm from Chester practice Aaron & Partners and specialises in divorce.

COMMERCIAL property consultant Matthews & Goodman has expanded its marketing team in Manchester and Liverpool with the appointment of Elizabeth Madden as marketing executive.

Madden, 33, from Swinton, joins the firm following a period of growth, having previously worked in marketing for North West based accountancy group, Champion.

At Matthews & Goodman, she will be responsible for managing the marketing activity of the firm’s Manchester and Liverpool offices, with particular responsibility for the firm’s digital strategy.
