Appointments: HOW Planning: Weightmans & more

MANCHESTER-based HOW Planning has added to its growing retail team with the appointment of Alex Eatough as senior planner.
Eatough, who has joined from the Manchester office of JLL, will be working on projects for a range of retail and developer clients including Aldi and Lateral Properties.
HOW partner Richard Woodford said: “We’ve been able to make a very significant appointment with Alex and welcome her to the team.
“In 2014 we gained a number of major new clients, with our retail portfolio in particular experiencing significant expansion.
“Alex’s appointment will help ensure we can continue to focus on our business growth and help us prepare for a busy start to the year.”

TOP 45 national law firm Weightmans is continuing to grow its marine practice following the recruitment of Stuart Kempson and Andrew Glynn-Williams at its Liverpool office.
The duo combine marine industry experience with legal expertise.
Kempson has more than 20 years’ experience in the P&I sector, including as an in-house lawyer with Charles Taylor and Co.
Before qualifying as a solicitor in 2006, Glynn-Williams was at sea for 10 years with Stena Line. He joined as a cadet and progressed to the rank of Chief Mate on deep sea tankers and fast ferries.
“Their recruitment is another demonstration of Weightmans’ commitment to and investment in the marine sector,” said head of Weightmans’ marine team Phil James.
“Our marine clients want a firm that can offer stability and expertise, at the right price. Stuart and Andrew complement and enhance our offering in all of those areas.”

INTERIOR and branding studio NoChintz has further strengthened its team with four new appointments.
The Manchester firm has taken on three interior designers and a graphic designer.
Kara Latham has arrived to account manage and design all residential interior contracts and Tim Denton and Rachael Phillips will bring interior design experience to ‘Live’, ‘Work’ and ‘Stay’ areas of the business. Katie Lea has also joined as graphic designer.
Director at NoChintz Leanne Wookey said: “Having established a strong reputation as an award-winning commercial designer, we are now looking to using our expertise to create bespoke designs in the high-end residential market.”
NoChintz was established in 2007 and has since grown into a flourishing £2.2m turnover interiors and branding studio.

DAVID Nuttall has joined R&D Tax Claims (North) as its Warrington based tax consultant.
He has moved from his previous position with the Manufacturing Advisory Service and has a strong background in new product development and innovation management.
Nuttall spent 13 years at Rolls Royce cars before moving to LDV for eight years.
R&D assists SMEs to claim back extra tax relief against funds committed to process and product development.

CHARTERED surveyor and property consultant Gerald Eve has appointed a new partner at its Manchester office.
Jason Print has been recruited as an industrial agency partner with a remit to build and lead the compnay’s Manchester industrial team.
Print has extensive experience of acquisitions and disposals across the north of England warehouse market and will work closely with existing industrial teams at the firm’s Birmingham and Leeds offices. He arrives from Cushman & Wakefield.
He is the third senior appointment to Gerald’s Eve’s Manchester office recently, following the arrival of David Law as a valuation partner this month and Mark Walsh as partner and head of the office in June 2014.
