Playnation wins five year MOTO extension

PLAYNATION, the private equity backed games machines supplier based in Runcorn, has renewed a key contract with a leading motorway services operator.

The Cheshire firm, which is backed by Manchester-based Palatine Private Equity, said the renewal with MOTO, would see it develop its seven year long relationship over the next five years.

An additional 80 server-based games machines will be added to MOTO service stations across the country, including Playnation’s state-of-the-art Storm B3 terminals.

Mark Chapman, chief operating officer at Playnation, said: “We are so pleased to announce this contract extension with MOTO, which is testament to a great, successful partnership between us and will continue to see both parties benefit from the extension, especially with additional server based games investment.

“Playnation has a real commitment to its people, as well as a focus on innovation, which we believe this has been key to our recent growth.”

Playnation was established in 2013 following an MBO backed by Palatine Private Equity. The company currently operates machines in over 1,700 locations, within holiday parks, bowling alleys, airports, pubs and motorway service stations, including Butlins, Haven, Park Resorts, Parkdean, Welcome Break, Roadchef, Talarius and MFA Bowl.

It has more than 700 employees and in the year to the end of March 2014 had revenues of £31.2m.
