Property briefs: Florist hopes to bloom in Hale & more

OFFICE and retail premises comprising 1,656sq ft in Hale, Greater Manchester has been fully let to a care home provider and florist.
Radiance Care Group for people in need of assisted living has taken the self-contained offices on the first and second floor on Ashley Road providing a total of 796sq ft on a three year lease.
Sahil Bhandari, director, of Radiance Care Group, said: “The business is growing and we needed to upgrade and expand our business accommodation as we look for new opportunities. Our intention is to find sites in the local area suitable for care homes”.
Florist, ‘Once Upon A Time’, which has outlets in Worsley, Bolton, Urmston and Media City, has opened its first shop south of Manchester.
It has taken the retail unit providing the 860sq ft on a five year lease.
Regional Property Solutions, director, Daniel Lee who let the property on behalf of a private landlord said: “This former retail unit was refurbished to create the offices on the upper floors whilst retaining the ground floor retail, which has proved a successful formula in this popular village.”

THE project which created Crewe’s new railway station entrance has scooped a top award.
The Crewe Rail Exchange scheme was completed in 2014, thanks to a partnership between Cheshire East Council, Network Rail, Virgin Trains, Balfour Beatty and Jacobs.
It has now won the prestigious ‘sub-regional project of the year award’ at the North West Regional Construction Awards 2015.
The project, which is part of the ‘All Change for Crewe’ regeneration initiative, also scooped a ‘highly commended’ in the ‘integration and collaborative working’ category.
The scheme is also in the running for national awards at the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) this week.
The new entrance, which includes 254 parking spaces, sits on Weston Road and offers improved access to the station (including disabled access), a new lift and enhanced taxi and cycle facilities.

HATTERS Promotions has become the latest company relocate to Orbit Developments’ Regent House in Stockport town centre.
The promotional merchandising specialist is moving from Cheadle to the 10th floor of the flagship building.
Hatters was set up 17 years ago by managing director Jo Shippen to meet the needs of businesses requiring creative, bespoke and personalised products to complement brand or campaign messages.
Shippen said: “We have been working with Orbit for the last year or so and have got the know the team and their portfolio of property and we feel this is the right time to commit our business to being in the heart of Stockport’s town centre.
“We are a Stockport-based business and we are passionate about seeing the town centre succeed and to that end it needs to attract successful firms. I would like to think Hatters – with our huge network of local and national clients – could make a contribution to the changing perceptions of the place.”

SUTHERLANDS Restaurant in Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District has been sold for an undisclosed sum by the specialist hotels team at real estate advisors Colliers International.
Acting on behalf of retiring owners Derek Moore and Ron Reid, Colliers sold the 60-cover restaurant in central Bowness to local businessman Colin Monk.
Haydn Spedding, associate director, hotels agency at the Manchester office of Colliers, secured the sale and said: “Derek and Ron acquired the lease of this iconic building in 1988 and have turned it into one of the busiest restaurants in the area. In the run-up to their retirement, they will continue to operate their nearby sister restaurant, The Spinnery.
“Colin Monk, who opened Café Riva in St Martin’s Square, Bowness, just over a year ago, will continue to operate Sutherlands for this season before embarking upon on a very significant refurbishment at the end of the year.”
