Beesley & Fildes snaps up rival in £1m-plus deal

BUILDERS merchants Beesley & Fildes has acquired Radcliffe Building Supplies, near Bury.

With seven-figure funding support from NatWest, the company is expanding its portfolio across the region.

The 2.2 acres site in Radcliffe which houses Radcliffe Building Supplies will be transformed with a substantial investment programme to offer one of the most comprehensive services to the construction and maintenance markets in the region.

This includes refurbishing the shop and creating new jobs as part of the improvements. It will also see the introduction of new product lines.

Established since 1820, Beesley & Fildes is a family owned company with eight depots throughout the North West. The firm also offers online trading. More than 200 people work for the company across the region.

Beesley & Fildes managing director Lee Davies said: “The acquisition of Radcliffe Building Supplies will enhance our network specifically in the Greater Manchester region while also allowing for us to better deliver for our customers across the North West. It’s an exciting development for the company.”

Director of Structured Finance at NatWest James Burgess worked with relationship director, Ian McGee, to obtain a seven-figure loan to facilitate.

Davies added: “We have a good working relationship with Ian, James and the team at NatWest.”
