Health Club opens doors after splashing out £4.5m on refurb

LOWRY Outlet (MediaCityUK) in Salford has opened the doors on its Virgin Active Health Club following a £4.5m refurbishment.

The major renovation sees the opening of a 38 bike cycle studio, a renovated pool and reception area and upgraded locker rooms.

Members can also enjoy explosive new high-intensity classes including The Grid, a non-stop obstacle course that promises to burn 900 calories in 30 minutes, and a revolutionary climbing frame for adults known as Queenax.

Following the top to bottom refurb, the health club now also boasts the latest fitness equipment, including Wattbikes, Woodway Curves, InBody Trackers and Water Rowers.

Lowry Outlet centre manager Helen Anderton said: “We have been blown away by the results, as we know our members will be when they test out the new and improved facilities for the first time.

“The refurbishment marks a major moment for the Lowry Outlet being able to offer world-class leisure facilities. Virgin Active’s significant investment is sure to transform the experience of our visitors looking for a great place to work out.”
