£75m MoD contract for engineering group

CHESHIRE-based Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a £75m contract over five years to supply independent nuclear propulsion safety and technical advice for the Royal Navy’s submarine flotilla.
The UK Ministry of Defence awarded the contract after a competitive tender. The work will be delivered by a specialist team from Knutsford-headquartered Amec Foster Wheeler.
Clive White, president of Amec Foster Wheeler’s Clean Energy Europe business, said: “This contract consolidates Amec Foster Wheeler’s position as the largest provider of independent safety assurance in the UK nuclear sector.”
