£4m Bury dementia unit completed

BUILDING group Construction Partnership UK (CPUK Group) has completed a dementia unit at a Bury care home.

The £4.1m project at Walshaw Hall Care Home for Capstone Care aims to meet increased demand for round-the-clock dementia care.

CPUK Group has constructed the Beeches, a three-storey, 56-bed care facility in the grounds of Capstone’s existing care home in Tottington on the outskirts of the town. It was designed by Warrington-based DWA Architects.

The overall building project also included the creation of new car parking for the home as well as landscaping.

The contract is the latest in a wide range of projects that West-Lancashire based CPUK has delivered for healthcare providers and specialists across the North West.

CPUK Group managing director Steve Burke said: “This is one of a number of specialist dementia care projects that we have been involved in as care providers work to meet the increasing demand for modern, state-of-the-art facilities in their communities.”

Walshaw Hall co-owner Alan Clayton said: “Together the Beeches and Walshaw Hall provide safe, effective and personalised care and support delivered by competent, trained, knowledgeable staff who have empathy and passion for working with people and for seeing each as an individual.”

CPUK’s work in the care home sector includes building a £3.5m care home in Southport for dementia sufferers and an extension to a nursing and residential centre in Alderley Edge for healthcare provider BUPA.

CPUK Group’s order book now stands at more than £60m. Founded in March 2000, the business operates from headquarters at White Moss Business Park in Skelmersdale.
