Bistrot Pierre coming soon to thriving Stamford Quarter

A PROMINENT two-storey unit in the growing Stamford Quarter in Altrincham, Greater Manchester is undergoing a major renovation in readiness for opening as Bistrot Pierre.

The independently-owned French bistrot group will open on December 2, as Altrincham town centre benefits from major regeneration and a growing food and drink scene.

The two-floor restaurant, with space for 170 diners will have floor to ceiling windows, French-styled interiors, a bar area and outside seating. It is also creating 30 new jobs for people in the area.

David Wightman, centre manager at The Stamford Quarter, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Bistrot Pierre to the centre and wish them every success with their opening. I hope Altrincham shoppers enjoy this wonderful new restaurant offering.”

Rob Beacham, co-owner for Bistrot Pierre said he was particularly excited about opening the group’s seventeenth bistrot in Altrincham.

“Altrincham is well known locally as a foodie destination so we’re really excited to be joining a community that enjoys great food, especially in time for Christmas,” he said.

“The building we have secured is situated opposite Marks and Spencer and the space, which is currently being renovated, benefits from plenty of daylight and will provide a welcoming and relaxing environment for diners at any time of the day.

“Our Stockton Heath bistrot, just down the road, has been open for five years and its experienced general manager, Katie will be leading the team at Altrincham.”

Bistrot Pierre manager Katie Salisbury said: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge of managing a larger bistrot and a bigger team. We’ll be open seven days a week, serving breakfast at weekends and our new Autumn/Winter menu which includes the delicious Confit de Canard and our bestselling Boeuf bourguignon maison. There will also be a bar area downstairs for diners to relax before a meal.

“I’ve spent almost seven years with Bistrot Pierre, after starting my career with the group as a waitress and have received excellent training to progress and grow a career in hospitality.”

Joining Salisbury’s team is sister, and assistant manager, Laura who returned to the Bistrot Pierre family after travelling abroad and working in Manchester’s food and drink scene.

The group, founded in Nottingham in 1994, is privately owned and will have 16 bistrots across the UK in Bath, Birmingham, Cardiff, Derby, Harrogate, Ilkley, Leicester, Leamington Spa, Newport, Nottingham, Sheffield, Stockton Heath, Stratford, Plymouth and Torquay, when the Altrincham eatery opens.
