Luxury homes plan for former home of AstraZeneca

RENOWNED luxury property developer PH Homes has submitted detailed plans for its latest project – to create an exclusive residential enclave in the grounds of Alderley Park, the former Cheshire headquarters of AstraZeneca.
 
The scheme is for 74 distinctive new homes in detached, semi-detached and mews styles, alongside sport and leisure facilities, a gastro pub, boutique hotel and farm shop.
 
Following its purchase of the land from Alderley Park’s owners, Bruntwood and Manchester Science Parks, PH Homes engaged internationally-acclaimed architect Robert Adam, director at Adam Architecture to design the properties.

He said each of the bespoke classical house types had been designed to complement the historic surroundings, with the original listed walled garden, arboretum, water garden and serpentine at the Park providing a spectacular backdrop.

“I’m delighted to be involved with this unique and exciting project,” he said.

“Working closely with the local planning authority, we believe we’ve created an outstanding scheme with an architecture that will do justice to these exceptional surroundings.”

Although the site already has outline planning consent, consultants HOW Planning have worked with PH Homes on the preparation of the reserved matters application.
 
HOW Planning associate Conor Vallelly said: “Alderley Park is already an award-winning project, so this residential scheme needed to be exceptionally detailed and of the highest quality.

“A lot of time and effort has gone into the pre-application process and in consulting key stakeholders to ensure it meets the Council’s objectives and sets a benchmark for the wider Alderley Park masterplan”, said Conor Vallelly, associate at HOW Planning.

Following the submission, PH Homes is hopeful the application will be determined in February with construction works commencing in the Spring.
