Pochin starts work on offices for housing association

CONTRACTOR Pochin has started work on a new eco-friendly headquarters office for Merseyside housing association Helena Partnerships.
The 23,000 sq ft three-storey, glass-clad building will provide a new town centre headquarters for 230 staff.
The building, which has been designed by KKA ARchitects, is being built on the site of a former St Helens Glass production facility on behalf of landlord Milston, which has agreed a long-term lease with Helena Partnership.
It will have a BREEAM very good rating, incorporating a heat recovery system and using brise-soleil on all four elevations.
The building, which will be known as Helena Central, will also contain a neighborhood resource centre for tenants.
Helena Partnerships chief executive, Rob Young, said: “The new office will be modern and environmentally-friendly – backing up our plans to become a ‘greener’ business – and will provide a pleasant, central and accessible contact point and resource centre for tenants.”
