Concrete pumping firm is buried
STOCKPORT-based concrete pumping firm Aardvark Concrete is to be wound-up by the official receiver following a hearing in Leeds last month.
The business, whose official company name was Multicat Plant Sales Ltd, was owned by Lesley Kilroe and had previously been run by managing director John Kilroe.
It owned the sole UK distribution rights to a specialist vehicle known as the Bay-Linx Multicat spreader, which was capable of unloading and spreading up to 18 tons worth of topsoil, stone or sand within seconds.
In 2009, the firm claimed that the distribution deal with Bay Linx would help to add £1m to its existing turnover of £3m.
However, TheBusinessDesk.com understands that the Official Receiver – an arm of the Government’s insolvency Service – has been appointed as liquidator of the Multicat Plant sales after a winding-up order was granted against it at Leeds District Registry in November.
The Official Receiver confirmed that the business was no longer trading, although Companies House records show that a new business known as Aardvark Concrete Ltd based in Didsbury has recently been formed.
