Appointments: Music lawyer joins Nexus; Moves at Deloitte, Livingcity and more. . .

LEADING music lawyer Stephen Lea, whose clients include New Order, Muse and DJ and producer Mr Scruff, has joined Nexus Solicitors as a consultant.

Mr Lea, who has more than 30 years’ experience and has previously worked with Take That, the Happy Mondays and the late Dudley Moore, will help Nexus, which has offices in Manchester and Knutsford, expand its client base in its media and entertainment department.

He said: “My areas of specialism are extremely compatible with those offered by the like-minded team at Nexus, and I’m very excited about the prospects of working with them.Both new and existing clients will now enjoy the support of an even broader range of expertise. Our combined experience will be unique in the North West.”

Mr Lea will remain as a consultant for Lea & Company, the Stockport-based property specialist firm he founded in 1990.

Rees, who is also chairman of Altrincham marketing firm The If Agency, has been appointed to help with strategic development, marketing and communications activities and a planned expansion drive.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in the North West property sector and was a board member of ReBlackpool, the town’s urban regeneration company, for five years.

DELOITTE’S transaction services practice has bolstered its team in the NorthIain White, Deloitte West with the appointment of Iain White.

White has spent 10 years at Deloitte and joins from the London office. He has expertise in capital markets and large corporate due diligence work.

He said: “It is great to be moving back up to the North West, which has changed a great deal over the past decade and has some exciting, yet challenging times ahead. It is a privilege to be joining such a well respected team and I look forward to immersing myself in role.”

Sonio Singh, Davis Blank FurnissMANCHESTER law firm Davis Blank Furniss has appointed Sonio Singh as a partner in its corporate team.

Singh has joined from Mohindra Maini where he was a partner and head of its corporate division. Prior to that appointment he was a corporate partner at Pannone.

He has experience of a range of corporate finance and commercial work including mergers and acquisitions across a number of sectors and industries from healthcare and transport to retail and leisure.

He has also worked on MBOs and MBIs, private equity transactions, reverse takeovers, corporate re-organisations, inward investment into the UK and all aspects corporate governance.

THE Vegetarian Society, which is based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, has appointed former civil servant Jon Green as its new chief executive.

Dr Green, from Congleton, has a Doctorate in performance management from Leeds University, has worked in both the Cabinet Office and Ministry of Defence.

He succeeds Dr Annette Pinner who left to pursue a career in psychotherapy after four years in the role.

SHOPFITTER Styles & Wood (S&W) has appointed Richard McElfatrick to itsRichard McElfatrick, styles & wood management team.

The former ISG project manager, who also worked at Bovis Lend Lease, joins Style & Wood as construction manager.

He will be responsible for working closely with high-profile clients to deliver large scale refit and refurbishment projects in the office and banking sector, including a comprehensive Barclays Bank programme throughout the UK.
