The firm has bought an extra 750 sq ft of office space at Murley Moss Business Village, and plans to take on a further three staff during the summer.

Moore and Smalley, which also has offices in Preston, Blackpool and Derbyshire, merged with Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and Lancaster-based Lonsdale & Partners in April 2008 to create a £10m turnover operation.

Michael Proudfoot, partner at Moore and Smalley in Kendal, said: “Since last year’s merger we have grown considerably. This purchase of extra office space will give us more room to expand the team in Kendal and will significantly improve our meeting-room facilities.

The Kendal office currently employs 25 staff.

THREE Lancashire legal firms have completed the deal to creating the largest practice on the Fylde Coast.

Senior partners of Blackhursts, John Budd & Co and LSC Solicitors agreed to merge the three companies to create new firm Blackhurst Budd LLP.

The new firm will include 50 staff and 11 partners making it the largest practice based in the area.

Warren Spencer the managing partner of Blackhurst Budd said: “This merger has made us the leading practice in the Fylde, unequalled in terms of size, expertise and the range of services we offer.”
