Haden Freeman in tune with Camerata

NORTH West engineering firm Haden Freeman group will sponsor the Manchester Camerata’s final concert of the 2008/09 season.

The concert will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the death of composer Joseph Haydn and the completion of the Denton company’s first Manchester project in 1809.

The group is aiming to use the concert as an opportunity to inspire students from Greater Manchester to pursue careers in engineering, technology and design.

Nigel Hirst, managing director of HFL, said: “When we realised that the Haydn anniversary coincided with George Haden’s first success in Manchester, this concert seemed like the ideal medium through which to put across to young people the idea that creativity and imagination are just as important – and as exciting – in science and engineering as in the arts”

Bob Riley, chief executive of Manchester Camerata, added: “In 2009 Manchester remains a city known for creativity, innovation and its entrepreneurial spirit. We are delighted that Haden Freeman recognises that, in the field of the arts, Manchester Camerata encapsulates that spirit.”

The Haden Freeman group employs 150 staff and has a turnover of £14m.
