In Brief: Gyro merger; Out There boost; JMW’s cricket pair

MARKETING agency Gyro, which has more than 50 staff at its North West Hub, has become part of a major international group with revenues of $100m, after a merger with US firm HSR.

Gyro International, which bought North West agency Cicero in 2007, is now to be known as GyroHSR. The enlarged firm has 17 offices in 15 cities in nine countries, employing 600.

NORTH West events organiser Out There Events is to deliver an forum for  chartered accountants and business advisers, Grant Thornton in the region.

Manchester-based Out There will help GT showcase the findings of a joint research project with The Economist on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Alysoun Stewart, head of entrepreneurial advisory at  Grant Thornton, said: “Out There Events is the ideal delivery partner for our North West Economist event. They have brought enthusiasm and expertise to the table and are currently working on securing an excellent panel.”

The event will take place on 25 June 2009 at Urbis, Manchester.

LAW firm JMW has signed up two more rising stars of English cricket to its client list.

Steven Davies and Luke Wright are already Twenty20 Internationals for England

Both players will be represented by JMW’s sports law team who will advise them on issues such as contract negotiations, sponsorships, and intellectual property and media rights.
