Manchester to host outsourcing conference

MANCHESTER will once again play host to the National Outsourcing Association’s only event outside of London this year.

The one-day conference, to be held on June 24 at the Malmaison Piccadilly hotel, will focus on outsourcers’ customer service.

It is the fourth consecutive year in which Manchester has been selected as the sole location outside of the capital.

The event is a platform for leading figures from the outsourcing sector to share best practice and discuss trends and developments. It will be chaired by Adrian Quayle, the vice-president  of sourcing practice for Gartner Consulting.

Mr Quayle said:  “Manchester is aspiring to become a UK outsourcing centre of excellence for customer service. We are once again pleased to host our annual regional event in Manchester and are looking forward to hearing from some of the Region’s true success stories.”

Speakers for the event include Gary Clapham, head of delivery and account management for Co-operative Financial Services, who will deliver a presentation about its outsourcing contract with Capita, and Warrington-based payroll provider Parasol, which will discuss its growth over the last 12 months.

The event has been organised by MIDAS, Manchester’s investment agency, in collaboration with the NOA.

Colin Sinclair, chief executive of MIDAS, said: “This success reflects the significant growth the outsourcing sector has experienced in the last few years, and we are looking forward to showcasing our city region to delegates from across the country.”
