Small firm powers up for growth

A SMALL North West company that supplies electric-powered vehicles is swiched on to growth after securing a £1m funding package.
Oldham-based ePower Trucks, which has grown sales by 55% in the last year, supplies electric trucks, tow tractors, and electric utility vehicles to a wide range of sectors.
The company, a trading division of Lift Safe which has a total of 11 staff, sells its vehicles to councils, health trusts, airports, rail stations and private businesses across the UK, and has also opened up export markets in Ireland, Spain, Germany, Greece, and South America.
The funding package from Yorkshire Bank, which includes invoice finance facilities, will support the company’s working capital requirements and help in the launch of a new road-legal electric powered commercial vehicle.
Managing director, Jerry Hanss, said: “We are constantly striving to supply the broadest range of electric vehicles available in the UK and this working capital facility supports our ongoing growth and expansion.
“Our new range of electric vans is providing a viable alternative to conventional counterparts as the move towards cleaner air in our towns and cities continues.”
Morgan Auld, business partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Manchester Financial Solutions Centre, said: “ePower Trucks is a fast-growing business in a rapidly expanding sector and the company has a bright future as demand for greener vehicle alternatives continues to rise.”
Lift Safe was founded by Mr Hanss 10 years ago as a supplier of handling and lifting equipment.
