Appointments: Appleyard Lees recruits; Whelan promoted at EMS & more

APPLEYARD Lees, the European patent and trade mark attorneys, has appointed Sara Baines as marketing and business development manager.  

Sara, who was previously marketing manager at law firm Pannone, will be based at the firm’s Manchester office. The role is a new one for Appleyeard Lees, which also has offices in Leeds and Halifax and specialises in assisting businesses protect their intellectual property rights.

NIC Whelan has been promoted to head of business development at Cheshire marketing roadshow specialist Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) as it gears up to expand its new business team.

Nic, who has over 12 years’ experience in vehicle-based roadshows will drive the recruitment plans to expand the team at the Ellesmere Port HQ with a pool of experienced business development managers to specialise in the field of B2B, B2C and internal communications.

Managing director Keith Austin said:  “Nic has played a significant role in our growing success by focussing on specific sectors and developing new business from major international brands and leading agencies.”
