Wood firm aims for growth after bank chips in

WOOD recycler Boden & Davies is targeting future growth after lining up a £1.1m invoice finance package with Yorkshire Bank.

The firm, based at a 15-acre manufacturing plant in Astley, Wigan, processes 1,200 tonnes of wood a day and supplie chip board manufacturers and energy companies.

The family run business, which has 100 staff and a turnover of £12m, was founded in 1958 and has other sites in Macclesfield, Birmingham and South Wales. Over the past year sales have risen by 15% while the workforce has grown by 10%.

Director Charles Boden, said: “We have grown the company a great deal since we started and now serve clients throughout the UK. We had a very successful 2010 and we are very pleased with the finance package from Yorkshire Bank, which allows us to meet the increased demand of our customers and expand the business.”

It has a strong order book from its high number of existing clients and is very successful in gaining new customers.”
