EV, the fund manager which recently won the mandate to run the £30m venture capital element of the £185m North West Fund, is to open a new office in Liverpool.
The office – at Horton House in Exchange Flags in the financial district – will be the company’s third in the region, behind Preston and Manchester. It also has offices in Birmingham and Leeds.
The opening follows on from the mandate secured from the North West Fund – an element of which is earmarked for Merseyside firms.
“We have planned our Liverpool office for some time,” said EV’s chief executive Jonathan Diggines.
“We have invested throughout Merseyside for years, and now intend to increase our activity here. We will shortly be announcing the appointment of our Investment Director to focus on investment in Merseyside and to be based at our Liverpool office.”
EV recently announced that the amount of funds held under management had increased to more than £100m – a 40% increase in 12 months.
