Barclays targets East Lancs

BARCLAYS Corporate is boosting its regional footprint as part of a drive to win new clients.

Its expansion drive into Lancashire will see it open new offices in Burnley and Blackburn.

Relationship directors Stuart Barrie and David Westby will be supported by associate director Shakira Musarat and Joan Stringer, Karen Worthington and Janet Southern.

John Stanworth, corporate director for Barclays Corporate in Lancashire said: “Our move into Burnley and Blackburn reflects our confidence in the business opportunities within this part of the county and our desire to support a more specialized approach to the market by continuing to segment ourselves along industry sectors.

“We are dedicating a highly experienced team of people to operate within the East Lancashire area and the intention is to strengthen this team over the coming 12 months whilst  ensuring we provide our existing customers with the highest possible level of service, being close to their business and understanding the local economy.

“We aim to be the first choice corporate banking provider in Lancashire and will be aggressively attracting new customers to Barclays Corporate during 2011,” he added.
