Rumford corners a fifth of Liverpool’s office market

RUMFORD Investments managed to secure around a fifth the total lettings secured in Liverpool’s city centre office market last year at its 20 Chapel Street building.
The firm said that a raft of deals completed saw it let 42,000 sq ft of space to new tenants including Liverpool Football Club (which took 30,000 sq ft of space), stockbroker Charles Stanley and voice messaging firm Qire. A recent report by CBRE stated that the total new space let in Liverpool’s office market last year was 224,000 sq ft.
Existing tenants include Barclays Corporate, Barclays Wealth, Bank of Ireland, Broadway Malyan, Ernst & Young and Panmure Gordon, among others.
Rumford Investments’ director Mike Stares said that the building took almost 100% of the Grade A space let in the city last year.
“We have proven that a quality product will attract quality clients even when the market conditions are as difficult as they are and against strong competition,” he said.
“Nor have we rested on our laurels and will be announcing another new tenant next week with others to follow.”
Five floors remain available at 20 Chapel Street. Agents on the Scheme are Hitchcock Wright & Partners, Mason Owen and DTZ.
