£100k for aerospace design business

AEROSPACE design company Aerotech Design Consultants has been given a £100,000 grant to develop the business into new areas.

The company, based in Manchester, offers technical design services to the aerospace engineering and manufacture sector.

Some of the money, awarded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency for its Business Investment (GBI) programme, will be used to buy a new laser tracking system, which will create a new area of business for the company.

The technology will allow for the accurate assessment of tolerances, something Aerotech says is increasingly being required to demonstrate component conformance with design parameters.

A team engineers will also be hired to use the equipment, and the project will create 10 full time jobs.

Graham Whiteman, of Aerotech Design Consultants, said: “This investment into state of the art technology is part of Aerotech Design Consultant’s strategy to provide high end technological solutions to our customers and fits with our company’s development both now and in the future.”
