Optare buses head for Malta

BUSMAKER Optare has announced that it has won a £2m contract with Arriva to supply 10 of its new Solo Hybrid buses for Export to Malta.

Arriva has recently been awarded the contract to run by services in Malta and Gozo by Transport Malta and the Maltese Government. Blackburn-based Optare said that delivery of the buses is expected to take place in June.

Optare CEO Jim Sumner said: “This is further great news for Optare as the order book continues to strengthen and its strategy of growing business in Green Bus and Export markets bears fruit.”
