Bistro Franc owner on expansion trail

THE boss of three French restaurants in Liverpool, who most recently opened Bistro Franc on Hanover Street, says he is ready to expand again, and is on the lookout for suitable sites.
Bistro Franc, which opened in May in the refurbished Church House, is the chain’s third city centre venture, the first being Bistro Pierre on Button Street and the second Bistro Jacques, Hardman Street.
More than £200,000 was spent fitting out Bistro Franc, which occupies 2,750 sq ft on two floors, allowing the restaurant to cater for 110 covers.
The restaurant chain now employs around 70 staff and managing director Mark Friend said he wants to expand to other towns and cities in the region.
He said: “We are delighted by the success of our new venture Bistro Franc and the continued growth of Bistro Pierre and Bistro Jacques. We are on the look out for other suitable new premises in the North West to meet our expansion plans.”
Matt Kerrigan, associate partner at Hitchcock Wright & Partners, which acquired the premises for Bistro Franc for the chain, said: “We have been impressed by the business model of the North West Restaurant Group and are proud to have helped them in their expansion plans. Bistro Franc is a fantastic restaurant and we look forward to acquiring new sites for them in the near future”.
