DWF’s varsity boost

LAW firm DWF has been re-appointed by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) to act as its main legal adviser in the UK.
The firm, which has acted for LJMU for the past 12 years, has won another three year’s work following a rigorous tender process.
DWF, which has offoces in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, will continue to provide a full range of legal advice covering everything from property and planning to employment law and health and safety.
The DWF team was led by partner Maria Burquest and included partners Jim Davies, Peter Barber, Tim Scott and Paul Attwood.
Existing clients for the firm’s 40-strong education team include Leeds Metropolitan University, Bolton Sixth Form College and the Crescent Purchasing Consortium, which represents over 400 further education colleges in the UK.
Maria Burquest said: “We are delighted to be re-appointed so that we can continue working with LJMU in the years ahead. The appointment further underlines DWF’s strengths within the education sector where we are continuing to build our client base.
Brian Kerrigan, director of corporate services with LJMU added: “We are very pleased to re-appoint DWF as the main provider of legal services to the university.
“DWF understand the culture and values of the university and deliver timely and technically excellent advice to a consistently high standard. We very much look forward to continuing our professional relationship over the coming years.”
