Enterprise tight-lipped on management changes

NEIL Kirkby, the chief executive of Preston-based support services group Enterprise, is understood to have parted company with the business.

He joined as finance director in 2003 and was promoted to the top job two years ago.

A spokesman for the business refused to discuss Mr Kirkby, pictured below, but could not confirm he was still the group’s chief executive.

He said: “If there have been any changes we’ll announce them when we’re ready. We’re a private company so we don’t need to announce anything of this nature.”

Backed by private equity house 3i, Enterprise has grown rapidly since delisting inNeil Kirkby May 2007. The group, which employs 13,000 staff, reported a profit of £77m in 2009 on revenue of £1bn.

It carries out infrastructure repairs and maintenance for utility companies but also handles street cleaning, grounds maintenance, contact centres contracts and repairs to social housing stock.

Mr Kirkby did not respond to a call from TheBusinessDesk.com.
