Fairpoint on track

NORTH West debt management group Fairpoint said it is looking forward with confidence.

The Chorley-based group, previously known as Debt Free Direct, said its financial performance in the first half of 2009 was in line with expectations following an overhaul of the business last year.

It said its borrowing has been reduced from £8.6m at December 31 to £6.5m, and added that the group is now focusing on growth and has put the first building block in place with the relaunch of ClearStart and the roll-out of new debt management structures to open up distribution options with creditors and debt agencies.

Chief executive Chris Moat said: “The first half of 2009 has seen the group build on the operational turnaround achieved in 2008 to deliver a materially improved result on the same period last year.

“The board looks forward to the remainder of 2009 with confidence”.

Fairpoint will announce its interim results on September 15.
