Manchester to host Rare Earths investment summit

MANCHESTER-based stockbroker Milkstone is to host a Rare Earth and Strategic Materials conference for investors in the city next Wednesday.

The firm has teamed up with London-based specialist research house Objective Capital to bring five Rare Earth Companies to the city next week to discuss the sector, which has become a major investment area as emerging economies like China and India have bolstered demand for rare materials used in everything from mobile phones and electric cars.

The summit will take place at the St James’s Club next Wednesday, March 16.
Gabriel Didham from Objective Capital said: “We have been keen to show companies in the mining sector, most of which are based overseas, that the UK is not just London.

“Manchester is a vibrant financial centre and some of its surrounding areas are amongst the wealthiest in the UK.

“The move of the BBC to Media City has sparked a lot of interest in the North West and we are looking forward to showing the companies just what Manchester is all about.”
