DEBT group ClearDebt has launched a prepaid card that allows users to pay bills online.

Timperley-based ClearDebt says ClearCash is a viable alternative to an online current account and is a practical solution for anyone going through financial difficulties, in a debt management plan or are unable to open an account because of bad credit ratings.

It costs £4.50 to register and £9.99 a month thereafter. Withdrawals are charged at 50p each.

David Mond, chief executive officer of ClearDebt Group says: “We are in the full flow of the recession and we want people to benefit from our experience in managing debt and to see that ClearCash is an open, honest and supportive product and service.

“The ClearCash card comes at a time when people are very aware of bank charges, which is why we have put so much effort into making this card the most useful and transparent tool they can have in their fight for money management.”
