The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) is to host a series of cultural briefing sessions to help Manchester companies understand cultural differences when doing business in India.

The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) is to host a series of cultural briefing sessions to help Manchester companies understand cultural differences when doing business in India.

The India Insight series aims to address the issues related to doing business in the current environment and discuss how India stands as a destination for business.

Cultural expert Amanda Crouch will speak about understanding cross-cultural framework and the differences in values and attitudes in the UK and India. She will also address stereotypes and generalisations, and outline ingredients for successful communication and business.

Other speakers at the event include Ian Gomes, High Growth Markets, KPMG, Shalini Agarwal, partner at ALMT Legal, Dalip Puri, head of multicultural banking UK at HSBC (Finance) and Tony Aggarwal, managing director at Kinetic Cubed Ltd (Market entry).

Sharon Bamford, chief executive at UKIBC, said: ” Helping business succeed in India is our priority, and integral to doing business in India is an understanding of its religions, politics and etiquette.”

India Insight series will be held on July 15 at the Radisson Edwardian Manchester.
