Singleton Clamp buys London firm

MANCHESTER-based traffic consultancy Singleton Clamp & Partners has bought London-based rival PTP Consultants for an undisclosed sum.

PTP is a specialist in transport planning, passenger transport systems and infrastructure design, and it has carried out infrastructure design for the Canary Wharf Group.

Singleton Clamp director Jim Budd said:  “We are very excited with this acquisition. SCP currently plays a major role in transport and traffic infrastructure predominantly within the Midlands and the North of England.

“The acquisition of PTP will allow us to further strengthen our position within the South.”

Budd said that the deal was particularly important to him as he had previously worked for PTP during its work at Canary Wharf.

“PTP has an excellent reputation within the South and here at SCP we plan to maximise the opportunities that this deal creates.”
