JMW steps into the ring with boxer

LAW firm JMW is stepping into the ring with up-and-coming Manchester boxer John Murray.

The Manchester firm is to act for the former British Lightweight Champion, in sponsorship, merchandising and endorsement deals.

Murray, who is undefeated in 27 fights,has previously been a sparring partner for Ricky Hatton. He trains in Denton.

Scott Stapleton, player management executive in JMW’s sports law department said: “We are thrilled to be working with John Murray, who is an extremely talented boxer and has a bright future.

“He has got an exciting couple of years ahead of him and we are sure we will see him in an important title fight in the near future.”

JMW also acts for England cricketers James Anderson and Stuart Broad as well as a number of sports companies such as Fred Perry.
