PH Media targets south east with London office

PH Media, the Manchester business which produces phone messages for businesses, has opened an office in London to target growth in the south east.

The base, in the capital’s Holborn Circus area, is expected to create around 20 new jobs.

PH’s managing director Grant Reed told TheBusinessDesk in January that a London office would be the firm’s next step.

The business has around 6,000 clients including Coca-Cola, Selfridges and Air France and plans to turn its attention to international growth next year.

He said: “This is such an exciting development for our company. We’ve got a great team in Manchester who helped us achieve a record year in 2010. Now our London colleagues are going to allow us to build on that success.

“A London base was an obvious next step for us and we have exciting plans for the next few years. Our growth is going to help cement our position as the go-to company for audio branding services.”

PH now employs around 80 staff at its Old Trafford headquarters and last year made a pre-tax profit of £1.3m on sales of £5.1m after seeing growth of some 50% in recent years.

As well as producing hold messages the company installs the systems and handles all music-related licensing. These services account for around 80% of revenue, but the group has a growing radio arm which delivers radio stations for retailers.

The London office will be headed by Ryan Smith, who will relocate from Manchester as regional director.
