Howzat? Go Goodwins help Aussies travel in style

NORTH West coach travel specialist Go Goodwins is transporting the Australian cricket team during the Ashes series in style, after buying a luxury new coach with support from Yorkshire Bank.

The investment by Yorkshire Bank has allowed Go Goodwins, based in Eccles, to buy a Van Hool Astron T916 to help service its long-standing contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The coach, complete with 38 leather seats, tables, satellite TV and industrial kitchen facilities, is transporting Ricky Ponting’s team during this summer’s Ashes tour  and will continue to be used in future to transport international cricket teams visiting the UK.

Geoff Goodwin, owner and director of Go Goodwins, said: “We have been working with the ECB for almost 10 years now and this vehicle will enable us to continue offering the very best levels of quality and service that our customers expect.”

Go Goodwins is a five generation family business and current owner Geoff Goodwin has been at the helm of the company for 30 years.

Ian Walkden, senior partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre in
Manchester, which provided the funding, said: “We have enjoyed a long-standing business relationship with Go Goodwins and the company continues to be a successful and hugely professional transport operator.

“We are once again proud to support the company’s work with the ECB with funding for this latest vehicle acquisition.”
