Suttons spends another £9.5m on tanks

HAULAGE contractor Sutton & Sons is to spend £9.5m on a new fleet of isotanks to meed demand for the transport of bulk liquids.

The firm said that it has ordered a total of 600 tanks from China and South Africa, with the first expected to arrive at its headquarters in May.

Its investment follows on from a £6m spend in new tanks to move bulk liquids and chemicals last year, and brings its total investment over two years to £20m.

Andrew Palmer, group managing director of Suttons, said: “The international division continues to grow and we have seen significant growth in some of our key markets.
“These are challenging times but we remain confident about our performance and ability to continue delivering a safe, reliable service for our customers.”

Suttons is based at Widnes in Cheshire but also has operations all over the world in Essen, Houston, Kuantan, Le Havre, New Jersey, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
