Sellafield search for decision-making help

SELLAFIELD Limited is looking for consultants who will help the nuclear energy business “make better decisions”.
The company handles nuclear waste management and fuel manufacturing activities at the Sellafield nuclear complex in Cumbria on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
It has advertised a three-year research consultancy contract worth between £200,000 and £400,000.
The tender document said the consultant will: “Provide Sellafield Limited with technical advice, market analysis, guidance on manufacturing processes and techniques through a focused enquiry support service to increase Sellafield Limited’s ability to make better decisions.”
Sellafield Limited is owned by a consortium consisting of the construction group Amec, the French energy business Areva and the Washington division of the US group URS.
In addition to the Sellafield site it runs a uranium enrichment plant at Capenhurst near Ellesmere Port and has a research office at Risley, near Warrington.
The deadline for expressions of interest in the work is September 21.
