Smart Identity loses non-exec

IDENTITY management business Smart Identity has parted company with telecommunications entrepreneur Atul Devani.

According to a statement released by the Manchester firm Mr Devani, a non-executive director, has stepped down, “with immediate effect to pursue other business interests”.

Smart Indentity’s chairman Scott Fletcher said: “Atul has been with us for nearly two years and we very much appreciate the excellent contribution he has made to the board during his time with us.

“Atul also has many other business interests demanding
his time and so whilst we are sad to lose him, we all would like to wish him well in developing them”.

Plus-listed Smart Identity provides software security services for public and private sector organisations such as United Biscuits, Debenhams and the NHS.

Mr Devani co-founded United Clearing which provides financial clearing and settlement services to the mobile network industry.
