Appointments: New recruits at Barclays, Moore & Smalley, Marketecture and more

STEVE Grant has been appointed as the new property relationship director for Barclays Business in the North West.
Barclays Business is the business banking arm of Barclays. It has over 700,000 – customers that are a mixture of start-ups, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Based in Manchester, Grant will be responsible for developing the Barclays’ position in the market, typically focusing on property deals looking to borrow between £500,000 and £3m.
Grant has spent more than 30 years at HSBC and the last three years with Barclays Corporate Real Estate in Manchester.

LANCASHIRE accountancy firm Moore and Smalley has made Tracey Johnson and Rachel Marsdin partners, while Richard Hall and Susanna Cassey have become corporate services directors at the firm’s Lancaster office.
As partner in the Preston office, Johnson, will continue to specialise in the audit of large companies and regulated entities, including charities, pension schemes and other not-for-profit organisations.
Marsdin will head up the firm’s Lancaster office and will continue to specialise in tax planning solutions to business owner managers and high net-worth individuals.
Hall will continue to advise growing businesses on a range of compliance and advisory matters, as well as heading up the firm’s digital and creative sector team.
Cassey will continue to head up the firm’s Lancaster-based audit team providing compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients, as well as leading the firm’s charities team in Lancaster and Kendal.

MANCHESTER marketing agency Marketecture has made three new appointments.
Jasper Ditton, centre, has become a digital account director, joining from Portfolio where he was interactive account director working with a range of public and private sector B2B and B2C clients, including Timberland; global electronics distributor, Avnet; The Co-operative Group; and the NHS.
Account manager Emma Oliver, right, has also joined the team, having formerly worked at McCann Erickson and IAS B2B Marketing, and Roisin Hynes, left, has been appointed PR account executive.

THE Co-operative Pharmacy is to develop its over-the-counter offering with the appointment of Caroline Linger as healthcare and beauty retail category manager.
Linger joins the Rochdale-based business from Halfords where she was a category manager responsible for reshaping the business’ strategy for the car accessories and in car technology ranges. She previously held senior roles at other major retailers including Argos, Staples and Dunelm.
She will primarily be responsible for developing the retail sales strategy, customer segmentation and space planning.
