Airangel expansion plans get funding boost

AIRANGEL, the Warrington-based internet access provider, has secured a £500,000 funding package from The Royal Bank of Scotland to support its ambitious expansion plans.
The funding, which has been provided through the Government backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme, will provide working capital.
The company has plans to increase its number of staff from 10 to 18 and is predicting an increase in turnover from £1m to £2.5m next year.
Last week Airangel announced plans to open an office in London on the back of a 30% increase in trade from the south.
Mike Gardner, managing director of Airangel, said: “We have ambitious plans to grow the business during the next 12 months and are actively looking to expand into new markets such as student accommodation and public waiting areas.
“It is essential to have sufficient working capital in place to support these plans and we are very pleased to have secured this funding.”
Founded in 2004, Airangel supplies wired and wireless guest internet access for hotel chains, conference venues and corporate organisations and allows its clients to offer internet access through their own bespoke portals.
Former accountant Mr Gardner also owns office fit-out company Claremont Group Interiors.
