DEVELOPER St Modwen has appointed a new town centre manager for Wythenshawe.

Victoria Nichol, 33, joins the property developer following six years with X-Leisure, part of which she spent as centre manager for Xscape, an indoor ski and leisure centre in Milton Keynes.

Mrs Nichol has seven years experience, built in both the retail and restaurant sectors. During this time she launched the Outback Steakhouse restaurant concept in the UK and helped Xscape land the title of Britain’s Best Attraction in 2008.

She graduated from Salford University with a business degree and is a qualified shopping centre manager.

Mrs Nichol said: “I was attracted to the challenge of taking on an existing centre and working to improve upon what is already there. There is a huge opportunity with Wythenshawe – it is already trading extremely well despite the wider economic problems. Footfall is consistently rising and there is a great selection of retailers selling items you won’t find anywhere else.”
