High jumper to motivate SMEs

NORTH West management development and diagnostic company Knowledge Transfer International has enlisted Olympic high jumper Steve Smith, to front a package of support for small business owners.

The move follows KTI clinching a contract from North West Regional Development Agency, as part of a £9.5m roll-out of the successful LEAD (Leading Enterprise and Development) programme to support more small businesses across the region.

KTI is staging a free masterclass tomorrow specifically for businesses with less than 20 staff from across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.

It will take place at the Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn between 5pm and 8pm.

Liverpool-born former bronze medallist Steve will be guest lecturer at the event, talking about goal-setting, mental toughness and how to overcome the odds.

Dennis Langley, managing director at KTI, explained: “LEAD doesn’t just focus on business development, but recognises that the key factor in any small business is the owner-manager.

“By supporting and developing them as a leader, LEAD equips them with the tools and confidence to make decisions that will help their business grow and thrive.”
