Aquatic superstore in administration

A BOLTON superstore that sells fish and reptiles is on the market after going into administration.

Joint administrators Paul Flint and Brian Green of the accountancy firm KPMG are trading Britain’s Aquatic Superstore and said they were looking to sell the business as a going concern.

Six staff have been made redundant leaving a workforce of 30.

The business, which has been trading for more than 43 years, markets itself as one of the largest aquatic and reptile product wholesale distributors in the UK.

Its 70,000 sq ft premises include 30,000 sq ft of retail space, which has an angling centre and more than 500 stock tanks with a wide range of fish.

Mr Flint said: “We are keen to secure a going concern sale of this long-established business and would encourage any parties who may be interested in acquiring the business and its assets to contact us as soon as possible.”
