Appointments: JMW gets non-law partners; Hampson moves to ICAEW; Blue Bell MD to judge
MANCHESTER law firm JMW Solicitors has for the first time appointed two non-lawyer employees as partners.
Daniel Clark has been appointed director of marketing while Ged Chadwick has been appointed director of IT and communications. Both have been withthe company for more than eight years.
Bill Jones, managing partner at JMW said: “The opportunity for law firms to introduce non-lawyer partners under the Legal Services Act enables firms such as JMW to reward long serving and successful senior personnel.
“Both Dan and Ged have been instrumental in the growth and success of JMW and they thoroughly deserve their respective appointments.”

THE Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales has taken on 
Laura Hampson to its media relations team.
Ms Hampson will work with existing media contacts for the north, Howard Rhoades and Sonia Kenson, who handle all press work for the ICAEW across the North West, North East and Yorkshire.
She joins from Liverpool-based PR firm Paver Smith, where she was an account manager for a range of professional service sector clients. Prior to that she worked as a press officer at the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

SUE Brownson, the managing director of BMW car dealership group Blue Bell Wilmslow, is to be a judge at the Everywoman Awards, which recognises successful women in the retail industry.
Research shows that fewer than 5% of chief executives in retail companies are women and the national scheme aims to challenge the shortage of women in prominent positions by showcasing the achievements of those women who have made it.
Ms Brownson said: “It was a great honour to be asked to join the panel of such revered female figures.”
She added: “These awards are vital to the future of the industry and being selected as a finalist or in fact winning one of the awards is a high acclaim, and we need to ensure that we chose the right candidate.”
The award ceremony will be held on September 16 at the London Marriott Hotel.
