Video report: Dragon backs UK business innovation

ENTREPRENEUR and Dragons’ Den star James Caan is getting behind the government’s inaugural iawards, set up to recognise the best business achievements in science, technology and innovation across the country.

The majority of business leaders across the UK agree that working together with Government to promote the development of such skills will help get the nation out of recession, according to a survey commissioned by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, which is running the awards.

Close to half (43%) also believe that UK organisations are good at supporting innovative business areas and ideas.

But how can even greater innovation be encouraged within UK businesses?

In this video report Mr Caan discusses ways to encourage innovation and develop new ideas in your business, such as encouraging open communication between employees at all levels, and cash incentives.

He also explains more about the government’s iawards, which are open to all UK organisations and have 13 different categories.

The closing date for entries is September 16 and the award ceremony will take place on November 16 in London. For more information visit: www.iawards.org.uk.
