Hungry Gödel seals Velum merger

SOFTWARE development firm Gödel Technologies Europe has merged with a London-based management consulting firm.

The Manchester-based company has joined with Velum, which specialises in implementing information systems.

The combined company will be known as Gödel Technologies, with its head office at Manchester Science Park and a sales office in London, as well as retaining Gödel’s development centre at the Belarusian High Tech Park in Minsk.

The merger will give Gödel a combined turnover of around £2m for 2009/10 and increase staff numbers to 55.

Terry Bland, Gödel’s managing director, said: “Gödel provides high quality software development services while Vellum’s focus is on content management and customer relations systems so bringing the two companies together seemed a perfect fit.”

He added that there were plans in expand the business further and take on more staff.

He said: “When I bought Gödel Technologies in 2005, there were six staff and in just four years we have managed to grow the business year on year to a point where, over the next two years, I plan to have between 100 to 150 staff working for Gödel across Europe.

“The merger with Velum and the new joint venture are already starting to open up new opportunities for Gödel Technologies, enabling us to offer our clients a broader service and ensuring we keep one step ahead of the competition.”
