Sharewatch: Mond’s children buy; Bglobal chief invests

THE children of Manchester entrepreneur David Mond have increased their stakes in one of his businesses.

Anouska Mond, a Los Angeles-based actress, has acquired a further 956,497 ordinary shares in the Timperley-based debt management business ClearDebt. Her brother Samuel Mond, operations director at the groups prepaid credit card business, ClearCash has acquired 543,503 shares.

The transactions mean they now hold around 4.5% of the AIM-listed business each. ClearDebt shares are trading at around 2p each.

David Mond told TheBusinessDesk: “They’re long-term shareholders and they do what they want.”

A third child, Oliver Mond, also holds shares in the business.

TONY Barnes, the new chief executive at smart metering business Bglobal, has bought his first shares in the company.

Mr Barnes who took over from Peter Kennedy on May 1 bought 22,000 shares at 44.25p on Tuesday. He now holds 0.03% of the share capital.

Bglobal’s meters collect data to allow users to tailor consumption to the most efficient times. The Blackburn company’s technology also means energy companies do not need to employ meter readers to visit customers.
