Fork lift truck hire firm saved

A £3m turnover fork lift truck hire firm forced into insolvency after a slump in demand, has been sold to a larger rival.
Around 20 jobs have been secued at Oldham company Lancashire Fork Truck (Services), which is now part of Linde Sterling.
LFT, based at Westwood Business Centre in, Oldham, was sold out of administration by administrator Charles MacMillan, partner and head of corporate recovery at Manchester-based accountants Beever and Struthers.
Linde Sterling, which is based in Warrington, operates throughout the North West and has a broad product base.
Mr MacMillan said: “It’s always pleasing to secure jobs via the successful sale of a business and especially so in these testing times.
“The business had suffered from reduced demand for equipment hire because of the downturn in the sectors it served but after a competitive bidding process we secured its future.
“Linde Sterling is an ideal new owner of LFT because of its experience in the provision of fork lift and other trucks.”
